HEY I'M BACK.

Sorry it's been a while, I hit a few speed bumps this past month that kept me down for a while. And by speed bumps I mean mountains. I've been highly medicated for the past month and can't tell you anything that's happened really for the past few weeks besides the fact that I'm apparently hilarious while on morphine. And apparently I got engaged to a pro soccer player? I honestly don't remember that happening though.
I literally just remembered that my birthday passed two days ago, I've been that out of it. I was really bad off for a bit, like my doctors were giving me weeks to live bad off, but I'm bouncing back. Obviously I don't have the strength I did before, but I'm doing so much better. I'm off basically all medicine and I'm not sick when I move. I'm just glad to be better.

  1. Hi Lizzie,
I am so happy to hear that you are up and about, and feeling better. I am Jeff K. mom, and I have been praying for you since I heard about everything you have been going through. I truly believe in miracles, and I believe that you ARE one of God's miracles. You have made a huge impact on Jeff and I believe changed his life. You are an inspiration to all who know you, and have read about you through your blog and who have followed your journey and I pray for only the best for you. You are a beautiful young woman, keep the faith and know that you are in our prayers.

  3. Hi Lizzie,
Thanks for sharing your life in this important and difficult time in your life. I am glad you are feeling better. My prayer is that you will miraculously make a complete recovery. But even if you don't, you have inspired many to trust more and be more open in their struggles.
May you relax and have His peace in all God is doing in you and through you.
    Blessings,
    Ian.

  4. Hi Lizzie,

Congrats on the engagement :-) and Happy Belated Birthday. My wish to you is for smooth travels on your journey. I hope that God gives you an extended road map, perhaps the Rand-McNally version, with many scenic views. Please send literary postcards along the way.

  5. Happy Birthday beautiful girl (: I believe that we are all here to scatter seeds, to plant something into the world that wasn't growing here before, to instill love and wonder and grace into the hearts of others. No matter who we are, we bring an energy to the world that wasn't here before we came.

Several blog entries ago, you were questioning your purpose, you wondered what your legacy would be. Giving thought to a concept that many of us don't think about in an entire lifetime. Whether our life on earth is but a whisper or 90 years, we leave an impact on the world. One that we will likely not even recognize during our time here. The answers aren't ours to know in this lifetime, but we will know in the next. And you will know. You will see that the seeds you have scattered by your thoughts, your actions, your love, your passion, your compassion, your faith, your humor, your realism, your way of living out loud.... your sudden engagement.......all the incredible bits and pieces of you. All of YOU, has changed all of US.

We are here to sow, and we don't always see the fruits of our harvest, but make no mistake, your seeds have taken root.

I know the song by the Wanted is a bit overplayed, but I love these words....

The Universe will NEVER be the same,
    I'm glad you came,
    I'm glad you came.

And when, with every breath I take I think of my Mattie...17 years, 87 days, 6 hours and 13 minutes....every one of those seconds of time, I am so glad she came.

I am so glad you came too Lizzie.

The universe will NEVER be the same.

Much LOVE to you. I have learned much from you and look forward to learning more.

  7. I have been reading your blog for the past year when your story appeared in the News Telegram in Sulphur Springs. You have made me laugh, cry, appreciate the small things in life and recognize that apart from everything else, faith is what matters most! I have been praying for you and your family and will keep it up. Keep inspiring us!
